This Blog will be the travel log of Narrowboat Harnser as we cruise the system. We are not continuous cruisers but just spend as much time as we can on the boat.

Stone to Chester 1948
Another video from Frances's grandfather, A family narrowboat holiday 1948. Stone to Chester.
Great movie! Loved seeing the back gardens with all their dahlias along the canal and the horse drawn barges. Fishermen were just the same too!! Wonderful record of the time!

ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing film - you can still recognise many of the locations particularly on the SUC. Lots more lillies and weed too...
These are wonderful. Especially enjoyed the shots of the horse drawn barges. Can't be much footage in colour from the period.
ReplyDeleteI think Frances has some more film still to be digatised
