Well we are back on the boat, we actually arrived yesterday, but I have been doing some electrical mods until lunchtime today.
needless to say as soon as we set off it started raining, not heavily, just spitting. We left the marina and turned left towards Fazeley only meeting one boat between here and Tamworth. At Tamworth there was a boat just entering Glascote top lock to go down, so both locks were against us, needless to say as soon as we cleared the locks we met a couple of boats.
At Fazeley Junction we turned left and called in at Fazeley Mill to pump the toilet tank, it had got a bit wiffy after sitting in the sun for the past two month not being used. There pumpout machine works really well and we were soon sorted, it cost me £20, I think its gone up since we had the last one. If anyone is interested there diesel is 131/153p a Lt.
It was a tossup as to stop below lock 11 or go up to the moorings between 11 and 19, the decision was made when a Canal Time came out of the lock leaving it ready for us. Unfortunately there were boats moored where we wanted to be so we carried on, there was one space at the far end by the Dog and Doublet but a boat already coming down in Lock 8 had his eye on it so we carried on to just below lock 7 to moor for the night.
I didn’t see anything worth photographing but I expect there will be some HS2 shots tomorrow
