Mon 21 Feb Ansty

Yesterday evening was very wet and windy, it died down overnight but picked up again this morning.
It was fine when we got up but again started to rain just as we set off, only fine drizzle but that soon changed to real rain. As the day went on so the wind picked up, gusting over 40mph at mid day. Passing Clifton Cruisers the old arm of the canal runs off in a loop to the left, the whole area was flooded up to the line of the old canal. We were looking at a well pruned mature tree when we spotted a buzzard  sitting on one of the lower branches, we saw another one on one of the greens at Ansty Golf Course.DSCF6222 More wildlife to add to the collection also in Ansty was a fox just sitting stock still in a meadow on the off side, when these things take you by surprise it’s hard to get the gloves off and the camera out in time to get a shot without ending up on the mud.DSCF6219 We also passed a moored boat where the poor owner has lost his solar panels in the wind, the one hanging down is well smashed up, I couldn't see the state of the other.DSCF6220 We Didn't really want to moor in Ansty but there is really only one decent mooring between here and Hawkesbury, if that was full we would have to go to the junction and we didn't want to be there  as tomorrow we plan to go to Coventry Basin for the night.
As I type this there is what sounds like a car alarm going off, sometimes just for a couple of minutes but sometimes several minutes, maybe it's the wind shaking it about.
