Thu 24 Feb Sutton Cheney

After we carefully moored in the lea of an offside hedge last night the wind moved round, bringing some heavy rain with it and of course it was now battering the boat. We were a bit late getting away but by then the sun was.
Its always a sad site to see a sunken or burnt out boat, we passed this on in Hinkley.DSCF6231

We had a couple of stop to find a post box, I use this program https://postboxes.dracos.co.uk/  which seams to work well, we also stopped at the farm shop at bridge 23. I held the boat on the centre line while Diana visited the shop and a couple of time I was sliding on the mud when the wind picked up. Not long after we left there we had so 25mph snow coming across at us, thankfully it only lasted seconds. Most of the day has been sunny but quite cool, insulated overalls were the chosen attire for the day. We decided to call it a day at the Sutton Cheney visitor. I was under the impression that CRT had removed the waste facilities, well the bin is still here at the moment.

Dracos hasn't been updated for a long time so many of the Post Box collection times are well out of date. Most show last collection times late afternoon but about 85% of Post Boxes now have a last collection time early morning.

The Post Office have their own version at https://www.royalmail.com/services-near-you#/ which seems to be more up to date - and it should be very up to date.

I have tried using the Post Office one in the past but I think if I remember correctly I had to put a post code in to get the nearest, the Draco one I could just look on the map. I will investigate the PO one again thanks.

The Post Office system now asks to use your location (from GPS etc) and, assuming you agree, it will use that to know where you are.
