Anderton Lift Sunday 5 August 2018

We found the mooring outside The Old Broken Cross a bit noisy early this morning with the lorries approaching the bridge. We were away at 9 15 heading back for our marina before driving down to The Fox and Anchor at Coven to pick up number one Grandson. The trip on the M6 was much better today in both directions.

Once back on the boat we headed off towards Anderton for the night.DSCF0047 The last few time we have been this way I have seen three large bin bags full of rubbish on the towpath, when I first saw it I thought it may have been from a towpath clear up, but as it was still there next this obviously wasn't the case, so today we picked them up from bridge 196 and deposited it at the Anderton services. Leaving the services we headed off to moor by the lift, at bridge 199 Diana spotted a floating car tyre, so that was also retrieved and carried back to the services.

Today's Journey map 066¼ miles in 3¼ hours and 100 miles by car.
